"I know!" She bent down, picked up a rock and hurled it at the nearest tree. There was a horrible screeching and twinkling and then hundreds of bright balls of various colors swarmed out of a hollow.
As a mass, the things spiraled towards the two and swept around them, darting and dancing. If you looked closely enough, you'd notice that the bright balls of color were emitted by tiny little people with tiny little wings---fairys.
"Catch one." She said, as she tried the same, swooping her hands around in an attempt to trap a fairy.

Armand wasn't really the type of guy to go around catching fairies (oh, if Alex were to see him right now), but Zizzy's happiness/enthusiasm made it seem beautiful. He spotted a blue one and with heavily trained reflexes, reached out and snagged one by the wings.
Or.... he thought he had, but when he glanced down, there was nothing there. He frowned in frustration and tried again, only to miss again.

"There's a darker purpose to this, so as to not threaten your manhood." She assured him when she caught him looking a little dubious.
Zizzy wasn't exactly the type of girl to prance around fields catching fairys just for the glitter. And she just so happened to be an expert (cheater) at this game. Sending out a tiny little zap, she stunned a fairy right into her hand and dangled it by it's wings triumphantly.
"Now watch."
She spun it around by it's wings until they were tightly wound and let go. The fairy went whizzing through the air, over the tree tops with the faintest little screech of protest.
"I bet you can't get yours farther then mine."

He frowned. "Well, I can't--- Aha!" He gave a manical chuckle as he finally caught one of the fairies (11th try is the charm). His eyes softened as he looked at the fairy with pity. He almost felt bad. Until, of course, it bit him on the finger. "Ow!"
So that was how it was going to be.
He grabbed the fairies wings and twisted them until they could be twisted no more and then let it loose. It went flying, leaving a trail of glitter behind. Probably, it didn't go as far as Zizzy's.
"Mine totally won."

Zizzy laughed. She'd already gotten another two and handed him the blue one. "So I don't have to wait another twenty four attempts."
Twirling her fairy about, she launched it and sent it flying and finally the swarm had learned (except for the stupid ones) and they'd gone back to hide in their tree. It would only take another rock to a different tree to continue playing, but after she'd launched her second fairy, she'd plopped onto the ground and laid back with her hands tucked under her head.
Her entire goal today had been to get him to stop taking himself so seriously just for a bit. And here he was, flinging fairy's around. She'd have to say mission accomplished.
"Not bad for a beginner."

"Thanks," he said, amused.
He took his blue fairy and slowly sank next to one of the trees, too tired to continue standing on his feet. He breathed easier and he released the fairy into the grass. She/It/He kicked his hand and Armand flicked it with two of his fingers. It yelped and skittered away.
"I don't think I want to go back..." he commented distractedly.

"Then don't." She replied from her bed-of-grass a little ways away from him.
Stay with me. She found herself thinking and cringed. These were not the thoughts of someone who was just in it for fun. Seriously, Zizzy, get a grip, it isn't like you're in love.
It took some self control to stay on the grass and not go sit beside him near the tree. And she was thankful she'd been able to exert it since it was unlikely he could see her face which was so often an open book.
"Or, at least not right away. Also, you can count on me to kidnap you any time you like."

He shook his head. "I have to go back soon. I was well rested, fresh. It's only a matter of time before our expedition catches up with me, and I'd rather I wasn't anywhere alone with you in any sort of state of weakness."
"You know..." He smiled slightly, his eyes distant, lost in thought. "You remind me a little of Alexander, in a way."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked, sounding mildly offended. What did he think she was going to do? Pounce him? She wasn't a lion.
And then he compared her with his brother. Oh yes, he must feel UNTOLDS AMOUNT OF PASSION for her. Her heart shouldn't have sunk with that comment, but it did, and she hated herself for it.
"Oh...thanks." She muttered. "I think I'm more clean shaven, at least."

His head, which had been resting on the bark of the tree, lifted up to give her an odd look.
"Calm down," he said, clearly trying to hide his amusement. "It means I have a cold-blooded demon inside me that is more prone to escape when I'm weak. Not," he raised an eyebrow, "because I have impure intentions. And you remind me of my brother because he forces me to have fun too. That's all."

She grumbled, because even the part of her that was trying to say she was just in this for fun could concede that him having 'impure intentions' would be wonderful. But it seemed to her like it was becoming clearer and clearer that he had nothing but platonic feelings.
Which didn't make sense. He couldn't have changed that quickly. Zizzy frowned. Could he? It would make things less complicated, she supposed, if not so wonderful for her. Sighing to herself, she stood and took a seat next to him.
"You shouldn't have to be forced to have fun. But I guess someone's gotta do the job."
Once again without too much warning she turned towards him, put her hands on either side of his face and kissed him. Partially because she just really liked kissing him, mostly because it would be an answer to her question either way.

And again, with the surprise-attack kissing. And the dizzying effect it seemed to have on him. His hands gently touched her neck, and then slid to her shoulders. He broke away, his breathing a lot more labored than it should have been for only a few seconds of kissing. He held her firmly in place, not giving her a chance to move back to the side of them. "Stop doing that," he finally said, breath more or less caught. "You're driving me insane."

Zizzy studied him hard for a moment, not resisting in being pulled away or held at arm's length. And then she grinned. Not so platonic after all, haha!
"Alright." She said placatingly, waiting for him to release his grip on her shoulders. "Sorry. Was just testing something. I'll stop. Promise."
She tried to look solemn, and failed horribly.

He glared. "You look real sorry," he said wryly and pulled her back to kiss her again.

Last time he had kissed her, it hadn't ended so well. But did she really care all that much? Nope. Afraid to break the spell, she didn't move anything except to kiss him back. With many happy returns of course. And that fluttering feeling she wasn't at all comfortable with but decided to ignore for the sake of being kissed by Armand.
