"Good." Letting go the breath she hadn't known she'd been holding. Maybe it hadn't been Iker at all. Perhaps it had something to do with Armand----he was too good at distracting her.
She didn't clutch at him, the scabs forming on her palms made moving her hands awkward and slightly painful, and she couldn't crush herself to him like she wanted too because her stomach was still smarting like hell. But none of that matter when he kissed her. It was like a pain killer, she forgot about all her little scratches and bruises and burns and smiled happily against his lips, worries miles away.

He deepened the kiss, and just as before, the pressure he applied somehow transcended beyond skin on skin contact. Rather than pulling away, he merely tensed, gripping her shoulders, and then he broke away with a soft gasp.
"It happened again," he said, frowning, his voice carrying the exact same inflections as Zizzy's might have if she were confused and disoriented. He grimaced, pushing a hand to his brow. He tried to sift through the memories flooding his mind. Some of them were his own, or at least he thought they were, but they were in the wrong perspective. And others not his own, that made his stomach twist.
And he could feel it, stronger than anything else, the love for himself, sidled right against his own love for Zizzy, burning deep and strong, but riddled with doubt and insecurity.
He stared at her, trying to find words, trying to decide which of her innermost thoughts he felt like tackling first. Or perhaps.... he shouldn't say anything at all. Say he'd only thought he'd jumped into her mind, but he must not have, because he didn't feel all that different...

Her happy cat-got-the-cream noise turned into a shocked gasp as she felt him, really felt him, touching her somewhere hands couldn't reach. If it had been anyone else, she might've freaked, but him, even as the feeling left her feeling a little empty somehow, she felt comfortable enough because it was Armand.
The storm had left completely. Placing her stiff hands on his cheeks, she looked up at him worriedly. Hearing him sound like a male version of herself was bizarre. And then she was blushing, fiercely. If the same thing had happened with her that had with Iker, did that mean he could feel how she felt? Just how much she loved him? How much she needed him? Suddenly, her worry took on a different focus, but she didn't know what to say.
"I'm...it's...just..."

She looked so panicked, he didn't want to say anything.
But knowing... and not telling her he knew was invading her privacy and lying about it-- two black marks he couldn't bear to live with.
He inwardly frowned, but tried to keep his face clear of emotion, so as not to upset her more.
First things first.
"Do you really believe you love me more than I love you?"

She winced, figuring that would be one of the things that bothered him. Although she couldn't really understand why. "Yes, but just listen." She pressed a finger to his lips so she could finish. "I'm not too concerned about it, and neither should you be. It only follows that it should be true. I don't love anyone else but you."
She smiled at him to show it really wasn't something she held against him. At one point Zizzy had been prepared to accept him as only a friend even though she'd wanted so much more. Having gotten his love, she would be happy with however much he had available. It wasn't as pathetic as it sounded. Zizzy would've readily taken it all were it available.
"We both know it's true. But don't worry about it, it doesn't really bother me."

She knew him too well. He'd opened his mouth to protest after the initial 'yes', but her finger over his lips temporarily silenced him. He frowned, almost pouting.
She didn't understand at all. It was like saying he only had a certain amount of love to give away, and because he loved Iseabail, he couldn't give Zizzy as much. He chose not to say anything, however. If he did, she would give him the same, sad sort of smile, and not believe him anyway.
"It doesn't bother you?" he said in a strained voice. "A part of you still thinks I'll leave you!"

Zizzy was still blushing, hoping that certain images she'd had of her in a white dress didn't float to the surface with the mention of him leaving. She felt a little panicked, it was true. Being forced to deal with all this, or him knowing things she'd rather he didn't.
"How can you be sure you won't?" She countered back, hating the fear making her voice tremble. She'd always possessed a dislike of confrontation, feeling as though to bring problems out into the open was to force people to react to them. She'd rather stick her head in the sand and hope they went away of their own accord. "The only reason you..." But he probably knew why she believed he'd picked her now. She didn't have to finish the sentence.
"What if she came to you? Wanted you back? Begged you? How do you know you wouldn't just drop everything to be with her?"
She moved her hand away from his mouth, hoping he wouldn't be too mad. No relationship was perfect, this impending deadline that may or may not come crashing down on them was just part of theirs.

"Because I know," he snapped, then visibly reigned in his anger, pressing his lips together. He wasn't mad at her, necessarily, he was just mad. Frustrated.
"I'm sorry." He sighed, averting his eyes. He looked back and touched a wet lock of her hair. "If I have to spend forever convincing you, then I will. I want to."

Zizzy contemplated this for a few minutes. She hadn't known what to expect; the sureness in his voice came as a surprise. There was no helping sharing in his confidence, if only for a moment. Forever, huh? Never in her life had Zizzy even contemplated spending forever with someone. Someone who wasn't Armand, anyways. But she hadn't thought, couldn't believe, that he'd feel the same way.
It seemed he'd stunned her into silence, but at least not inaction. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer by crossing them at the elbow. She kissed him with a fierce passion until she was forced to come up for air. Pulling away, but not more then an inch from his lips, she whispered "You feel the same way? You don't feel as though you....settled?"
Maybe she wasn't the booby prize she'd been thinking she was.

Everytime their kisses left him breathless, each as exhilirating and new as the first. She pulled away and he blinked dazedly. It took him a moment to comprehend her question and then he chuckled lightly over his lips. "Settled, you clueless girl... I got lucky." He touched his lips to hers again, as if to seal his words.

Zizzy could almost feel her doubts leave her, and the uplifting effect it had. They'd been weights, tugging her down and now they were gone; she would've been glowing had pain not been radiating from her stomach and exhaustion pulling at her senses.
Her breathing was ragged as she pulled away and leaned against him. "If I don't start walking now, I'm not going to make it." The trip back to civilization made her want to cry just a little. But she'd grit her teeth and suck it up.
To take her mind off the inevitably painful walk, she tried to think of what else he might have in his head of hers now. Did he see the nights Iker had visited her? It'd been a struggle to keep it from him and now possibly that was ruined.
"Anything else in my clueless little head concerning you?"

Armand would sort through her thoughts, her deepest feelings, one at a time, perhaps when he was by himself. Some, like the night she and Iker spent together, he had no desire to pursue, neither did he feel it worth discussing.
He smiled at her and without further ado, swept her into his arms, bridal style. "Not particularly. I do wish you would have explained a little further about Mr. Blue so I could have killed him, but I guess it's over now."
