"So, I did," he said softly, lost in memory for a moment. His heart squeezed a little thinking of the carefree times in the beginning, playing go-fish on the stone wall, blissfully unaware of how attached he was growing.
He sighed theatrically. "Well, come on. Let's go buy some flowers to toughen me up."

“Daisies is the manliest of all flowers,” She assured, pulling Alexander along by the arm cheerfully. Nellie had been a little hesitant at first, to go back to Dreamland. If not worried about getting caught, she was worried that the sights and smells of Dreamland would make her even more homesick. But now she was excited. She always felt kind of glowy here. It would be great to be back in a place where everyone else was glowy too, so no one glowed.

They made it into the main part of town and Alexander hailed a carriage. Industrious, squat little thing, but he didn't feel like taking the time to go all the way back to the castle to get one of their's.
He lifted Nellie inside by the waist. "Mi'lady," he said gallantly, and then climbed in after her.
