Zizzy didn't look at Alex because she might've betrayed the fact that she had no clue what he was talking about. Armand probably didn't deign the paper worthy to earn his glance, and if he did, he probably didn't deign Maury worthy of a moment of his time. Even in her defense.
"Nightterorhmm? IheardallaboutIkeractually." He fixed Zizzy with a knowing grin, even being half-strangled like he was.
Zizzy blushed. "You won't be printing that story if you value your life at all." She pulled his tie even tighter and his hands turned frantic. "And you will lay a false trail about Nellie's whereabouts. You don't really seem to have a problem with printing bullshit."

He grinned. Zizzy was pretty scary when she had a worthy cause.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets, rocking back on his heels. "What she said." He made a point of eyeing the little business shack up and down. It would burn very easily.

"If the next issue of the Wail is anything but incredibly flattering, we'll burn this place down. And no one will believe you when you say it was us. He's a Prince and I've got the next Crown Prince growing inside me."
She let go of the tie with a rough shove and Maury ended up on his ass. "Heylook, heylook, nohardfeelings, noproblem, noneedforfire."
Zizzy grinned and turned to Alex, but only after kicking Maury in the side. Don't mess with a pregnant lady. "Shall we depart?"

Alexander tipped his head in an elegant bow and looped his arms through hers. "We shall."
After they had walked far enough out of hearing distance, his face broke into a broad grin. "You're downright terrifying as a pregnant lady."

She didn't even remember to be scared by shady-looking passerbys she was so pleased with herself. "Damn straight." She declared happily. But the smile slid off her face for a moment. "About Iker. It wasn't like Mikhail made it sound, and I didn't want to give details in front of all those people. But he came to my apartment, I thought he was Armand. He acted like it so well. There were a few...slips, but I ignored them. Anyways, after we.....after he...you know, he proceeded to tell me it was all just for fun, I wasn't good enough for him, blahblah and left. He did something similar to Armand, and it led to a very confusing fight." She sighed and looked up at him. "Pretty fucked, huh?"

Alexander stopped, reaching out a hand to grab her arm, stopping her progress. He stared at her, not saying anything for a moment.
At least it was Armand's kid. How much worse would things be if Zizzy carried Iker's child.
"Ah, Zizzy. I don't know what to say." But his eyes blazed in silent fury.

Zizzy smiled, at the very least he didn't act all disgusted like Mikhail had. "I'm so scared he'll come after the baby. I don't know what it is with him, but he seems pretty fixated on me. It's weird. I'm not all that interesting." She wasn't putting herself down, but there was nothing so special about her that warranted a crazed Night Terror's excessive attentions.
"I...Armand has forgiven me, but I can't really. I should have known."

"Mm..." He frowned. "I don't know... do you remember that day in the mountains... His face, when you told him you loved him, all of him. Not that it wasn't the right thing to do, but I can see the fixation."

She did. And the times he'd snuck into her dreams and she'd spit it in his face again and again because it bothered him and it had been true. Had been, when he'd been a part of Armand, the man she loved so much sometimes she felt like her heart was going to burst from trying to hold it in.
"He couldn't possibly think that's still true? After everything he's done to me, to us? He almost killed Armand you know. The only reason he didn't strangle Armand was because it turns out he does have a power after all. I was uhh...passed out." She grinned sheepishly. "Your fire packs quite the punch."

"Armand has a power?" Alexander echoed, baffled. No one had told him. Armand didn't seem any different.... Hunh.
His eyes narrowed at the 'your fire packs quite the punch' comment. His fire. Not Iker's.
"Why hasn't anyone killed this guy yet?" he grumbled.

"Yes. He can...read you, when he touches you. I have a feeling it has to be an emotionally-invested touch. It happened the first time when he was strangling Iker, and the second time when he kissed me. It's more than just thoughts, it's memories and emotions." She shrugged, "I can't ever cheat on him." Zizzy joked. Like she would ever. She stiffened at the next question.
"Armand's too honorable. I wanted to, I was going to, he stopped me. Didn't want me to have it on my conscience, but he didn't want to do it either. When he saw how upset I was, he offered but I don't want to make him go against who he is. I don't know. Now with the baby, I kind of would feel better if Iker wasn't constantly hanging over me."

Alexander considered his brother's power for a moment. Well, it was no hellfire certainly, but it had Armand written all over it. He was already too perceptive for his own good.
He rolled his eyes. "Pansy." Really, if you didn't know Armand, and only heard Zizzy talk about him, you'd think he was perfect. Not that he didn't hope Nellie talked about him the same way (though he doubted it). If he was romantic, it would have been cute. "I'll kill..." He trailed off, uncertain he wanted to make that promise. Thinking about Nellie made him think how she would look at him if she knew he'd killed someone. "We'll make Vince kill him."

"It's actually really disturbing. He takes on a few characteristics of the person he touches. I thought, when it first happened, that Iker was repossessing him. And him sounding like me wasn't exactly fun either."
She shook her head before he trailed off. "I don't want anyone to kill him. I'll kill him if the opportunity presents itself. I won't go after, and I won't make others go after him for my sake. What if someone got hurt?"

"Right, right. Just throwing it out there." He grimaced at the thought of Armand delving deep into his mind. Not much of a joy ride for either party. "So now what? Am I taking you home, prego?"

Zizzy looked towards the Castle, visible from almost any point in Chimera. Something about it didn't feel so homey at the moment. The King was less frosty than the Queen, but Pia was torture to be around currently, and Armand wasn't so much better himself, not when she was still so angry.
"I can head back on my own." She tried casually. If he went back to Nellie, she could take a walk, maybe go somewhere familiar. If she stuck to main streets, Iker was unlikely to pop out of the crowd.
