Good Hope Hospital practically glittered in the afternoon sun. The Monarchs could say whatever they liked, but Dream Territory and Nightmare Territory were still as different as worm root and barberry leaves. Approaching the imposing building, Nex tried to expel any nervous energy he was retaining. It wasn’t working too well. Job interviews tended to put his aura on the fritz. It was all that judging and expectation. Not healthy for anybody’s inner harmony, if you asked him. Motivation should come from within.
Passing through the great white doors and stepping into the main lobby Nex approached the bubbly looking Dream seated at the front desk. She looked up at him with a smile that would melt faces. The only thing Nex could think is that she was very… yellow.
“Hello, there! Welcome to Good Hope. How may I assist you?” she asked. Nex smiled softly. Dream aura’s were just so different from Nightmares. It was pleasant, for the moment.
“I’m looking for Camilla. Is she in?” he asked. The girl bobbed her head of blonde curls and instructed him down the left hallway last door on the right. Nex thanked her and made his way down the surprisingly bare corridor. One would have thought a hospital to be a bit busier. Taking in the peculiar nature of his surrounding, Nex approached the door and knocked without giving the matter much consideration.

Camilla was not looking so hot. Her complexion had rapidly lost it's glowing healthiness and become digustingly pale and sickly. Her curls were limp no matter how much she magicked them otherwise and her eyes were ringed with bruise-like markings.
When the door resounded with a knocking, she'd been staring despondently into a hand-mirror.
Quickly tucking the thing away, the lock clicked open seemingly of it's own accord and she called "Come in."
Her voice sounded alot weaker too. It had been a miserable few days and she was beginning to think that maybe she couldn't handle this Dark Magic she'd ingested. It was so very hard for her to ask for help though.
Camilla briefly wondered who was on the other side of the door. Perhaps a patient? Or maybe, finally, a job applicant. Oh god she hoped so.

Nex opened the door, taking care to shut it quietly behind him. He padded into the room, his high-tops cushioning his footsteps. He’d actually managed to pull together a pretty decent indigo polo and a black undershirt. He’d even broken out the slacks just for the occasion. While he felt it was best to dress in what was naturally comfortable to the wearer employers seemed to like it better when he showed up in something other than jeans. Just went to show how focused on the material people were.
“Hello. Are you Camilla? I’m Nex. I’m here for the job interview?” he said, tapering of at the end of his sentence as he got a good look at the woman in front of him. She looked horrible. A pretty soft yellow aura with a big chunk of nasty black shoved right through it. Nex almost cringed under the negative atmosphere. “Are you all right, miss?” he asked, taking a few steps closer to her in concern.

Camilla gave the boy a quick, asessing glare and then nodded. "Sit." He looked clean enough, and he wanted the job at the very least. He wasn't here to waste her time, or was a reluctant applicant. She refused to accept those despite the severly under-staffed situation of the hospital.
"I'm just fine." She said a little more defensively then she'd meant for.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Nex sat as directed. He did not, however, believe that the hospital director was as "fine" as she claimed. Especially not with those big nasty waves smacking him from across the desk.
"Camilla, were you injured recently? Something you harbor a lot of resentment over? Oh, or were you hexed? You don't really seem like the resentment-manifesting-due-to-intensity sort," he tried. She didn't look impressed. "I actually have a spell for hex protection! I've even gotten it to work before. It'll really help cleanse your aura, I promise." He'd need a few ingredients from home, but he should be able to fix her up. That or he'd turn her skin blue like that other time...

She didn't like the way he used her name, as if they were familiar. It was her own fault for never having registered any kind of last name, but still. At the very least 'Dr. Camilla' would've suited.
And as he blabbered on, she frowned. He sounded like he might actually be a nice addition to the staff here, if he could tell something was wrong so quickly and suggest a remedy, but she also didn't like the way he was prying.
"No. I wasn't hexed, I don't resent anything. At the moment." She added and looked at him meaningfully.
"Why do you think you'd be suitable for a position here? What position are you expecting to get?"

Nex smiled. Ordinarily he'd insist on focusing on the problem until it had been addressed, because bad vibes are just as toxic to those around us as they are to the individual, but as he did come here to interview and he really was flat broke, he figured he'd put it off until later.
"I'm glad to here that. Well, I like helping people. The key to a healthier and peaceful environment is helping those in need, don't you think? I've also done a few healing spells and I'm familiar with the beneficial properties of over a hundred herbs and plants." He carefully left off the part where he had no prior work experience and had trouble holding down jobs that lasted longer than two months. While lying clogged your energy flow, omitting information was perfectly fine.
"I'm open to any position at all. I'm very flexible and I can do a ton of different jobs." That was very true, at least. He'd done every part time job short of peeling potatoes in the past 20 years. "Where do you have openings, Camilla?"

She gave a short hollow laugh. "Everywhere. Take your pick. At the moment, you seem like a prime candidate for Resident Chief. Or maybe head of the Custodial Office, or maybe both. We're horrendously under-staffed and the patients aren't getting any less. I can mantain most of the hospital with my abilities alone, but it does drain."
Especially recently.
"You wouldn't object to treating patients, then, correct? Do you considered yourself a calm, patient person?"
Camilla was more then relieved that he was no longer prying, even if he was using her name in that annoying familiar way. It meant she just might be able to swallow her slight dislike and hire the boy.

"Ah, yes. I consider myself patient. There's always room for improvement, of course. And I'd be happy working with patients. They're the ones in the most need, after all. And I feel I'd be able to grow as a spell caster as well," he said, trying to address all of her questions. "I'm glad you think you can use me." he added. he considered mentioning that he knew a neat Zombie spell that would enchant the dead to work as cleaning crew doing simple tasks, but decided a Dream hospital probably wasn't the place. Plus, the last time he'd cast it, the Zombies limbs kept atrophying and falling off.
"Now, Camilla, really, what's wrong? If you carry on like this, you're going to put yourself in a hospital bed and then who will you be helping. I can do just a quick cleansing spell. It'll get rid of any negative emotional debris," he offered. Camilla was obviously ill. he just couldn't pass that up.

Camilla nodded and scribbled down a few notes to seem professional. Thankfully, there was an array of desk-paraphenalia that kept his line of sight from trailing onto what exactly she was writing.
Pros
- three staff members -actually qualified -seems nice -seems normal
Cons
-Don't like his hair
She was about to ask more important questions when he started prying again. She scribbled down 'Brown noser' under the hair comment and looked back up at him. "It isn't emotional debris." She snorted in contempt. Camilla didn't have emotional debris. Please.

Nex watched her, blatant concern scrawled across his face for the world, well, office, to see.
"I can help, Camilla. I know I can, but you need to tell me what happened. It'd be worthless to cast a cleansing spell on something like a physical injury or deep magic..." Nex paused. That hadn't occurred to him before. Deep magic. His brow furrowed. "You're not under the influence of deep magic are you?"

She glared at him, but the days weighed down on her, and the worry and finally the pain and grossness she could feel spreading insider of herself because of it.
"It's...Dark Magic. From the Mask of Death, apparently. It siphons off Dream aura or something and purifies Nightmare aura. It's addictive and unhealthy." She said, paraphrasing Jack. "I got it helping out the Prince." She explained, not wanting him to think she dabbled in black arts.
"Now, where do you see yourself in ten years?"

:I see myself mourning the loss of a very strong woman who tragically wasted away because she didn't seek help. That and I've always wanted my own shop, you know. Somewhere near the marketplace. The sort of place people come to on a case-by-case basis..."
He shuddered. Black magic wasn't exactly a cuddly art. He'd never cast a dark spell before, per se, but spell casting was a lot like baking. If you follow the instructions, have all the right ingredients, and are in the right place everything should go well. That or you'd get one of those souffles with the top caved in.
"I can, ah... There's a spell to cast out dark magic from a victim. I've seen it once, in one of the advanced books... I think it'd be worth it to give it a shot."

Well, what a load of crock. She shot him a particularly dark look and decided to breeze over the entire thing. It wasn't any of his business, he was a stranger she'd just met, she wasn't going to let him cast any spells on her. For all she knew, he could do more damage then good.
"And what is your worst quality as a worker? Don't give me that 'I work too hard' trite shit." She didn't usually swear, she wasn't usually this blatantly rude, but she could hardly help it.

Nex blinked at her hostile tone. At first he'd thought it was the magic residue hanging around giving him the willies, but now he was starting to wonder if it wasn't just the doctors attitude. Well, he did really need the job...
"Erm... Well, I'm not the best with remembering things. I'm getting better about writing things down, though," he said, pulling out the flip book and holding up the page: buy food, do laundry, new moon @ 12:14 3/7, job interview @ GHH.
"So, my worst quality is probably that I'm forgetful., but if I'm interested in something I'm told I can be very persistent until the jobs done," he clarified with a mellow smile. Right when she looked about to ask another question he hurried to add, "and if you don't want me to do it you should go to someone you trust. That's going to kill you if you don't expel it."
