(Because Old Habits don’t just die hard, they come back Undead. No worries, I'll definitely add a new character as soon as I think of something ~_^)
Name: Dren
Age: Older. Perhaps a century, perhaps more. Looks to be mid-to-late 20’s.
Gender: Female
Group: Nightmare, neutral in every sense of the word.
Occupation: Dren is Headmistress of the only recognized educational institution on the Isle. She’s published a theorem regarding ‘mara’ and wrote and approved (>.>) her own dissertation on Dream and Nightmare energy residue and molecular structure. She is currently working on an encyclopedia compounding the last 4,000 years of Dream and Nightmare history. It’s taking her a while.
Appearance: Long life and slow growth rate aside, Dren is nearly identical to a RealWorlder. She bleeds red, cries the same water-oil-mucin fluid cocktail, and occasionally develops an unsightly sebum blockage (more commonly known as a ‘pimple’). Dren is short, about 5’3” in height, with shoulder length burnt auburn hair that juts out in unmanageable clumps and waves if left down, which is often the case.
Dren is, has been, and always will be very thin bordering on emaciated. Her body is more corners and bony limbs than curves. High cheekbones and a harsh jaw line sharpen her heart shaped face. The ever-popular scowl does not help with making her appearance pleasing. Her flat green eyes stare out from beneath a fringe of red lashes.
Personality: Dren is a naturally reserved creature. She tends to hold back and observe others dramas rather than create any of her own. While one might be led to think that this is because she is shy, the reality of the matter is she simply feels superior to those who let there emotions rule them. Dren’s pride and self-love have long been her trademarks. She approaches problems with a beach of salt, adores riddles, puzzles, and telling other people how to solve their problems.
Dren is intelligent. Her career as a bibliophile and fascination for unsolved questions motivate almost all of her actions. Dren can be single minded in her pursuit of knowledge, often endangering herself to gain an insight. Dren, despite her often anti-social nature, relishes teaching and passing knowledge on to others. As a Headmistress she is strict and unforgiving, but does her best to judge matters objectively and with logic.
Powers: No powers to speak of. She is almost physiologically identical to humans.
Other Information: Dren is the fear of emotional and social isolation. She is the subconscious self-loathing of a middle-aged Historian that threw himself into his work. He became so consumed by the desire for knowledge that he estranged himself from his friends, co-workers, wife, and only daughter. At night, he would dream of Dren –who was created in the likeness of his daughter—sitting alone and desolate among her books, just as lonely as the Historian. This nightmare, along with his own loneliness, killed the man. Dren, who no longer had a mind to live in and fear to feed off of, was released into the Nightmare Realm. She witnessed the joining of the Dream and Nightmare territories and even assisted the rebels as a strategist from time to time.
