The grass shifted softly within the glades Silence Save for the holy voice of the wind, soothing the dull waters scattered between the trees. Such a peaceful place, a place of dreams and quiet meditation. The moon gliding with patterns of shifting light and shade within the warmth of the air and here it remained, a perfect silence within the privacy of night The disgusting flaws of living things faded here, here it was only him, here he faded with the breath of his Lord. Here, nothing seemed to exist. Sometimes, he wondered, if the entire world could be this way. Empty

To each his own, as the saying goes. But Dream and Nightmare alike, preference and choice of diet aside, could appreciate the peace and paradise of the Meditation Glades. Alexander was dangerously close to sleep, but he didn't let himself pass through that slip of consciousness. He wanted to feel everything around him. Or rather, the lack of anything around him.

Seth lifted his eyes Prayer beads sliding between his fingers as he stared, eyes locking onto the figure in the distance Resting within the grass Silently moving towards him, placing himself between the trees, his body masked by the shifting light of the stars, "A warm night, isn't it? So calming and peaceful, as if nothing bad could even exist." The sweet childish expression passing over his face The prince of hell What a beautiful gift, a sacrifice provided by the lord The ram of Issac's slaughter.

Alexander tensed at the voice, not really hearing what it said. He cracked one eye open, irritation evident on his face. "Excuse me?" he drawled after a moment.

"Forgive me," The light polite tones, "I was simply saying what a lovely night it was...and I couldn't help notice who you were, of course." He stepped form the trees, a slender man with a friendly smile, "You're the prince of that corrupted monster of a king, are you not?"

"Oh. Right." His irritation subdued at the Seth's soft, harmless apology, but flared once more at the last comment. He heaved himself upright, crossing his arms over his chest. He appraised the man coolly. "I'm afraid I am," he said, a hint of pride to his voice. It bristled him somewhat to hear his father spoken of in such a way, but he'd taken Dream insults before. He sneered. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." There. Let the little twerp know how he felt.

"Apples..." A cheerful laugh, "Apples have been known to cause a lot of trouble," The smile never fading from his face, despite the sneer, all attempts at intimidation seemed to wash away as soon as they hit, "Better, if the tree were uprooted and burned. Seeds, you know." The winds stirred, "Still...a shame your king's..." He paused, trying so very hard to be polite, but alas, there were only so many words, "whore, had to spill so many seeds into the world."

Heat simmered through the air between them. His shoulders shook with the effort it took not to strike the man. His eyes smoldered and burned, but there was an icy, cruel gleam that cut through them. All this, surrounded by an expression so calm, so indifferent, it was almost frightening.
He stood to his feet. "Leave," he said in a low, dangerous voice. "Now."

his eyes widened innocently, "I apologize, but sadly, it isn't just the family. It's simply the root, of a sadistic, unclean aspect of a human mind. you should understand that," A voice that sounded rational, almost pleading his logic, "a prince of hell. I'm sure that once you've died," An airy smile, "The Lord shall put you on your rightful throne, right next to your father, and the unclean bitch." The soft laughter and his consistant grin A child playing his favorite game.

"Nightmares, then?" he asked dubiously. "Best of luck clearing out an entire race."
He felt a little of his anger simmer. This was just another Nightmare-hater, admittedly one that was a little crazier than the norm, but nothing to get himself in trouble over. And really, he wanted to walk away, he did. He felt no insult in being called the prince of hell, but rather pride. But the little bastard just had to continue to bring his mother into it. He let his fist snap, connecting neatly with the man's face. Nothing earth shattering, but it felt nice.
"Better," he admitted tiredly, flexing his hand. He glared at Seth. "And I'm not planning on dying any time soon."

Seth's head turned with the force of the punch No matter Flesh wounds only sought to prove he could feel pain, or in fact, anything, it was nice, proved he existed, The smile remained as he turned back to look at Alex, a hand to his cheek, "No worries," A cheerful disposition, "I've already gotten quite a start. I left one of them for you, a silly, sinful young lady she was," A light laugh, "She had pretty cheasnut hair, I tied it back for her, to keep the blood off, something i'm sure she would have wanted," he folded his hands between his sleeves, "I'm sure you saw her," The grin widened, "She was just for you...the first one for the prince of fire." Eyes shining with religious fire, "There are more, you know...they simply haven't been found yet. And even more to follow the path the Lord has set for them."

His eyes widened as he finally grasped what this lunatic was saying. That girl... He nearly felt sick, remembering how she looked draped against the gates of the castle. And then thinking she'd died because of him, he did feel sick.
"That's murder," he said, wishing he hadn't punched Seth. He had almost seemed to enjoy it. "You belong in Rissa." He frowned. And it seemed it would be his responsibility to take him in. Super.

"Murder?" He tilted his head, "No, not murder, she lives another life, where she will be with the rest of her kind, prince." The soothed tones of rational, "It's where you belong as well, with your throne beneath you. Not squabbling here, a place you don't belong, a life you don't deserve." He took a step forward, the glimmering shadow of silver beneath his robes, "I belong here...guiding His children, protecting them from you're disease." The smile, "There was a child too, you know. Sin is most pure when so young, unable to realize the things that you are."

He'd met some real extremists throughout the years, but this was something else altogether. It was beginning to creep him out--- and that took a lot.
He crossed his arms, glaring at the 'holy' man through narrowed eyes. The idea of a child treated to the same massacre as the girl pinned to their gates had his stomach rolling.
"You picked the wrong disease to confess to."

A soft glimmer shone within his hands as the priest dashed towards Alex A fast and direct slice aimed at his throat A man who clearly did not like to waste his time (unless it was for a good lecture about chastity which included non-offensive inuendo about buttons and poles and who had them)
