Jack raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, sure. I just have magical creatures... floating.... around." His eyes widened. Genn. "My daughter," he began, a sincere grin forming, "She has a pretty broad collection of mythical creatures... she might."
His eyes softened as they rested on Mary again. "I know you don't want to hear it, but I'm really sorry." He sighed. Yeah, Vince was being an ass, but Jack understood. Mostly because he could see in the mummy's head. "We can get you home," he added.

Camilla hoped his daughter had unicorns. "If she does, ask her to talk to one of them, explain the situation to it, and it might give up it's horn for the cause." Camilla wouldn't bring up the question of Genn's maidenness however. Not with someone like Jack. Besides if she kept them, it probably wouldn't matter either way.
"It's not like I expect any better." Mary said, perhaps a little harshly. "Can you get me off the ground? I'm not as comfortable as I look." It pained her, physically pained her, to sound this pathetic, this needy. But what else was she supposed to do? What with Vince being a screwhead like usual. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I was stupid."

"You weren't stupid," Jack assured her softly. He bent down and carefully put an arm under her knees and the other supporting her lower back. He lifted her into his arms fairy easily. "Er..." He paused uncertainly. "Do you want to go back to the circus or....?"

"Yes. Jerkface isn't going to chase me out of my home."
Although now that she thought about it, she wasn't sure how she was going to manage anything on her own. She couldn't count on Vince for help, that was for sure. Mary would see how she managed, how hard it was. Maybe the Mummy would suffer to get her a wheelchair. If she found it too trying she could probably find somewhere else to go. Although she had the sense that once she left the circus, she wouldn't be coming back.
Camilla stood and brushed off her knees, shaking her head. There'd been a point when it had looked like Vince cared for his comrade, but then he'd just stalked off. Nightmares. She would walk home, or something. Maybe hitch a ride with an officer.
"Tell me as soon as you know. I'll start looking right away for the other things I need." She waved and walked off to find a ride.
