Armand arrived at the lake early, before the sun rose. Unlike in Chimera, you could actually see it as it crest over the horizon, the glassy surface of the lake gradually sparkling with its rays.
He wanted to savor this feeling of peace and contentment before she came (if she would come, he thought absently). The feeling was rare in his life.
He'd sent a note that would be waiting for her whenever she woke up, which could reasonably be any time, actually.
Meet me at the lake. For old times sake. I love you, Armand.

He had been damned lucky that she'd woken up so early, and it was only because some stupid Nightmare had decided to win back his love by throwing boulders at the wrong window. When she had waken, a note has pestered her and she'd been about to trash it without thinking when his name had caught her eye.
Despite herself, it made her kind of nervous. Old times sake? And a note early morning leading her to a secluded location? She still hadn't really been able to rid herself of the sickish anger she held towards Iker.
She went anyways, smiled when she saw him sitting on the beach anyways and ran down the slight hill, knelt behind him and looped her arms around his neck. Instantly she knew it was Armand. The slight smile on his face, probably from watching the sun rise, just, she was sure. Which made her feel even more guilty for ever having made the awful mistake.
"What do you mean, old time's sake, huh?" She asked softly. "And you're very lucky I got the note. How long have you been here?"

"It was a risky way to invite you," he admitted, placing a quick kiss on the corner of her mouth in greeting. He shrugged, turning his eyes out toward the lake again. "Not so long."
He glanced back at her and grinned. "Nervous?" he asked, trying to sound casual and concerned.

"Actually, yes." Before Armand, Zizzy had been brimming to her eyeballs in confidence and self esteem. But there was something almost intimidating about his...goodness. "I...are you sure? About me, I mean? I'll drop it after this I promise and I don't mean to be so heavy, I just...worry."
She leaned a little ways away from him, almost glad she faced his back so she wouldn't have to watch his face. If she knew one thing, Armand wasn't going to lie to her.

He pressed his tongue to the back of his teeth, trying to reign in his impatience. He would kill Iker, for nothing else but this. Without looking, he reached behind him and grabbed her arm, pulling her to his side where he could see her face. He smoothed a hand over the back of her neck, so she couldn't look away.
"I'm sure."

Zizzy smiled at him apologetically, "I'm sorry." Although she had to admit she felt relieved. They'd been through so much lately, it was kind of nice to be on stable ground. "So why'd you call me out here at this early hour anyways?"
She was actually kind of glad that stupid rock-thrower had woken her up. Or else who knows how long it would've been before she'd gotten that note. There was something peaceful about the lake at this hour.

"Don't look so suspicious," he said, faking hurt.
He laughed a little. "I just thought, the last time you and I had a real date was here, so why not? I can wine and dine you if I want to."

"People usually reserve that for the evenings." She smiled and slid over to sit facing him. "Our first date." Her eyes drifted back to the water and she laughed. "Where I almost drowned you. How romantic."
She reached out and touched his cheek, "You're sweet, but I don't see any food around here. Unless your into chewing grass."

His eyes glazed for a moment, his mind back in a memory, and then he smiled, a mischevious glint to his eyes. He stood up, pulling her with him. "That's because we're eating later," he explained. "I thought we'd swim first."

"...swim? But--but I sink like a rock. I can't, I'm bad at it Armand, really, really bad. Even you said you wouldn't try and teach me. Besides! I don't have a bathing suit."
Zizzy couldn't believe he'd remembered. Or that he was trying this. Or maybe he'd forgotten and once she reminded him he'd let it drop because she did not want him to see just how much of a flailing idiot she was when it came to water.
"Really, really bad."

He smirked, evidently having remembered, nay-- planned for it, after all. He touched her chin. "Neither do I," he murmured in her ear and grabbed both of her hands, slowly tugging her to the water until the sand beneath their feet was wet, and the lapping waves crashed against their ankles.
"It's time you learned, my darling," he said. "I can't always be around to rescue you, and it would certainly help my case if you could keep your head above water in any given situation."

There was very little resisting him with that look in in his eye. Her jeans were getting wet and she growled. He'd probably planned all of this. She slipped out of her jeans and threw them up on the beach because honestly she didn't need anymore help in sinking.
"You are going to be sorry." She warned him. "I. Can't. Swim." But since it didn't look like she was going to convince him of that fact, he would just have to find out for himself.

He followed her lead and decided to strip himself of his shirt, pulling them both until they were waist deep in salty, rocking water.
"Relax," he said with a soft laugh. "I wouldn't let you drown. The worst that will happen is you'll look like an idiot."

She scrunched her nose up at him. At this time in the morning the water was crisp but it was almost nice, as long as she remained capable of touching the bottom.
"If you let go I'll panic and then you'll get cooked." She warned, latching onto him tightly. Water kind of terrified her. As a child she'd tried swimming and had, without explanation sunk to the lake floor like a rock. No matter how fiercely she'd tried to stay adrift. "I can't even do the doggie paddle. I'm pathetic."
There wasn't really a question of her looking like an idiot.

"If you cook me," he countered, "There will be no one to rescue you, and we'll both die."
He pushed his arms back and stroked a few lengths until he bobbed barely above the surface. Treading water, he lifted a hand and motioned her over with a finger. "Come on. Out in the deep. I have you."
