Diaspro could hardly believe it. They'd been caught. After all their close scrapes and miracle escapes she'd been starting to think Jasper's luck would never wear off. Maybe they'd been counting on it too much.
At least they'd gone down with a fight. She'd broken the neck of two L.O.S guards. Which, in the long run, probably had made things worse for her, but she was still pleased with herself. Her cell was located no where near James or Jasper, so she could only think of her own escape. She didn't know where they were located either. She would get out and worry about them from the outside.
It was like she'd ever even consider abandoning them. Even James.

Jasper sat against the wall of his small cell, his forearms propped against his raised knees and his head bowed low. He supposed he should have seen this coming, soon or later. Living on the run had worn down all of them, made them not careless, but tired enough to slip up, even accidentally.
It was odd, but he didn't feel dark, or oppressed. Trapped, certainly. And restless, worried about Diaspro and James... but he'd been in Dreamland's prison before, and it was like the life slowly sucked out of you, one endless day at a time. Nightmares continued to surprise him.

There had been a handful more hazy days in the forest, some without Jasper. So when Camilla looked around the hospital, with a few extra staff members around and few patients, she decided she could be allowed to slip away for an hour or two. Picking up on Jasper hadn't been hard, but it had certainly come as a shock.
The Rissa.
Cold dread hit her stomach. He probably wasn't there to apply for a job. And she was bound to free him. Turning her into an outlaw. Again. Maybe she'd tattoo her legs this time. With tar and feathers.
Hoping maybe there was some kind of misunderstanding, she poofed over. But of course not. Of course she was in a small cell with Jasper huddled in the corner. She dropped to her knees in front of him and didn't even think about the consequences. Her loyalty to Jack meant a lot to her, but her Godchildren came above all else, even herself.
"Oh Jasper." She muttered, "Are you okay? C'mon, let's get out of here."

He startled at the sound of Camilla's voice, his head whipping up in surprise. "Camilla?" he asked, a bit stupidly. Once he'd fully absorbed her presence, his eyes softened. "Yes, of course, I'm fine." He hesitated, giving her a suspicious look. "I think freeing a fugitive is crossing a certain line of loyalty..."

Yes, yes it was. Yes, she'd have to go on the lamb, again. And yes it was completely against her morals. But she only shrugged. "I've done worse." Well okay, no not really, but she'd get through this like she did everything. Sure it meant giving up her work at the hospital, sure it meant forsaking her loyalty....why was she doing this again? She looked back at Jasper.
Oh right.
She touched a hand to his face, smiling sadly. "It would've been better if you could've avoided jail, but I can't leave you in here to rot. Now, please, let's get going before guards find us."

Clearly, it was a sacrifice for her, and he appreciated the concern. "Alright," he said uncertainly. "How are we getting out?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "And what about Diaspro and James?"

Q: How many poofs did it take to become a Criminal?
A: Three
Poof out of Jasper's cell, him in hand, into James'. Quick explanation.
Poof out of James' cell into Diaspro's. Longer explanation. Yelling.
Poof out of the Rissa Grande, three Dream extremists in hand, land in the Forest of Mystery.
Diaspro grumbled and hurried into the cabin to pack what they could before they were forced on the lamb again. James followed to help, perhaps sensing Camilla wanted to be alone with Jasper for a moment.
She looked tired all of the sudden, sad, a little beaten, but she smiled at Jasper just the same. "They'll see the glitter, they'll figure it out. I'm not so good at stealth. You'll need to go into hiding. As always, I'm at your beck and call should you need me. Try not to get into anymore trouble for a while, lay low. Diaspro killed two men. For freeing a murderess, I'm probably exiled. If they catch me. Maybe Jack will go easy on me when they do." She took a deep breath, already missing her life. Nex---she'd probably never get to see him again. The hospital, her pride and joy. She could only hope in her absence it would be well taken care of.
"I sounded alarms upon leaving, they have protections, I was only able to get through because I was trusted by the monarchy, and I helped with it's rebuilding." She sighed, ran a hand through her hair. "Where will you go? Do you have any idea?"
Did she have any idea where she'd go? Nope!

He stared at her, his expression slightly horrified as she rattled on. Exiled? He felt like calling her an idiot. What had she done?
But it was too late now, and to chastise her decision would only seem ungrateful. Instead, before he could help himself, he stepped toward her and wrapped his arms around her in a fierce hug. "Thank you," he said softly into her hair.

Despite the turmoil she'd thrown her life into, there was inner peace from doing what her nature commanded of her. It would've been so much worse had she let Jasper rot in there. She was surprised by the hug, but returned it eagerly, letting her stress melt away. How long had it been since anyone had hugged her like this?
She pulled back an inch or two and looked up at him, cupping his cheek with her hand, keeping her other arm wrapped tightly around him, like she didn't ever want to let go. "You're welcome." She whispered. That simple thank you helped make it worth it. Hadn't she always complained about ingrateful wards?

The truth was, he hadn't hugged anyone in a long time either. He forgot how nice it felt, sort of cozy. He was in no rush to put distance between them again either.
"I know you're not much of an activist," he said, voice still low and quiet. "But you can come with us for awhile, if you need to." He smirked. "I'll protect you from Diaspro."

Camilla felt relief as he offered. Being on the lamb was lonely, and she'd just be getting the hang of being social and having friends and doing stuff besides work. And sure being on the run from the law didn't really count as a fun outing, it was close enough.
"I would like that." Even in her heels, she had to stand on the tips of her toes to press her lips to Jasper's. She pulled away quickly though, remembering his ex and her tendency to alienate/terrify/deball men.
When Jasper had talked about her meeting someone man enough to deal her her, he probably hadn't meant himself.
"Sorry."

His eyes widened at the sudden feather soft touch. He blinked. It sent a pleasant little zip through his stomach that felt way too good to be decent.
If he'd forgotten how nice hugs were, he'd really forgotten how nice kisses were. And they were, to put it bluntly, pretty damn nice.
Ignoring her apology, he grabbed her chin and returned the favor.

You couldn't really blame her. It had been centuries since she'd really kissed anyone. That wasn't healthy. And she was about to make up for the dry spell (dry aeon, whatever). At least it was like riding a bicycle, you didn't forget how.
She snaked a hand into his hair, they were already close from there hug, but she closed any distance that remained and kissed him with an eagerness she hoped didn't scare him. It had been way too long.

Dimly, he wondered if it was breaking some cardinal rule, kissing your godmother, but at the moment, he couldn't gather enough coherent thought to even care. He liked that she was taller, for a woman, and he didn't have to nearly break his back leaning down to kiss her, and he could reach her waist with ease. Mmm.... his mind hummed happily. Really, really nice.

Camilla felt herself go a little weak at the knees and had it not been for Diaspro barging out the cabin at that moment with all of DENS worldly possessions, Camilla might've pulled him down on the forest floor.
Diaspro, who did feel some kind of debt towards the fairy Godmother was perhaps not as nasty as normal, even when she saw her and Jasper kissing. "She coming with us, I assume?" The stone woman grunted, not sounding particularly pleased, but not angry either.
Camilla pulled away and nodded. "As long as you promise to lay low for a while, I could even prove useful." She wasn't going to follow them around if they continued their crusades.
