They played for hours, or what felt like it anyways. It was too dangerous to have anything as solid as a clock or watch in the bouncy room. By the end of it, Marie's sides were aching and the score stood at No one knew. She lay on her back, staring at the ceiling, face flushed, breathing heavy.
"You're not all zat bad, for a Dream."

Nellie’s hair was mostly out of its ponytail by now, her curls all disheveled from romping around. She bounced feebly up and down, too tired to really go on jumping, but too Nellie to give up completely. The Shepherdess hadn’t frolicked in what seemed like ages. There wasn’t a lot of frolicking going around in the graveyard. “You’re pretty okay yerself, fer bein a snob,” Nellie replied. She couldn’t rightly say “Nightmare”, since she lived with one.

Marie chuckled softly, sitting up slowly. "I am a snob, aren't I?" She shrugged her shoulders, "Oh well, eet's fun being one." She stood up and tried to head for the door, but the instability of the floor had her half-crawling her way there. "Come on, I am very thirsty, and I bet you are too."
Once she was out the door she snapped her fingers. The Ghost maid took a few seconds to appear and Marie relayed her order before leading Nellie back to where all the food was set up. "I'm also starved." She complained, picking up a large chocolate chip cookie. "Do you miss Dreamland a lot?" She asked a little more sincerely then last time.

Nellie followed in a similar half-crawl fashion, before flopping down on the mattresses Marie laid out. Why did people always ask her if she missed Dreamland? Illie and Genevieve were always very asky about it. Of course she missed it, but it wasn’t like she was being held here against her will, so she clearly didn’t miss it enough to return. “I do miss Dreamland, some. Iss me ‘ome town, y’see, of course I miss it. But there’s lots of fings ta love ‘ere too. Enough fings ta keep me ‘ere.” ‘Enough things’ roughly translated to Alexander.
“Though, I ‘ave to admit,” she added, so she didn’t seem to wistful, “me body got all messed up when I first moved ‘ere. Didn’t know when was day and when was night, since there’s no sun. I was tired all day. You fink you could make it,wot livin in Dreamland 'n' all?”

"Zat's good. But you could go back for a visit you know. Dreamland is bigger zan Peep farms, and if you disguised yourself, you'd be just fine." She shrugged her shoulders, "You could come to ze Gaia with ze girls and I one time." Just as long as she didn't use that awful accent in front of any of the other patrons. Someone needed to hire the girl a speech coach.
"I zink it would be okay. I am not overly into ze dark and gloom like some Nightmares. I might even enjoy eet."

“Goin back juss kinda makes me miss it more. An’ I’m not much fer the big city anyway,” Nellie laughed in disbelief. “The Gaia? They wouldunt let me in if I made reservations fifteen years in advance. We was the most affluent family in the Pastures, and not one of th’ peeps could ever getted in there properly. I s’pose one of us could’ve successfully snuck in.” Nellie somehow did not consider her relationship to the royal family much of a boon to her social status. “I imagine you’d be quite snug in a pent’ouse in Dreamland city, aye? ‘S a big shoppin’ district roight there, I fink you’d probably do great,” Nellie agreed.
