Couldn't help making it sound more badass then it is. : D
----------------------------
It had taken a little over an hour to get out of the castle onto the streets, over to the edge and into the Real World. They stood on a street corner in a busy city she couldn't identify. People were still out and about, and her and Alex were getting second glances. To be expected, considering how they must look to the humans.
"Let's do this quickly." She hadn't been to the Real World in a while, and it was almost nice to be back. The odd sensation of being somewhere more concrete and with more unshakable reality to it made her feel a little wierd.
Zizzy pointed to a pharmacy across the street that was luckily still open. "C'mon hotshot." She said as she started to cross the street. "I need 2000 milligrams of L-aspartic acid, L-glutamine and L-theanine each."

Alexander enjoyed being in real world, and shot every mortal that glanced at him a wicked grin and relished the responding little flecks of fear that floated his way.
"It's open," he pointed out, obviously. "I forgot all my American dollars. This is America right? Of course it is. You can pay legally for drugs." He listened to her list and gave her an odd look. "Those sound like lucid dreaming stimulators..."

As the entered the store and moved directly to the back to the drug counter, she shrugged. "So what if they are?" Paying for them legally had come to mind, but she wondered if Pharmacist would hand them over without a prescription. "And I had thought of that but I don't have a doctor's note."
Just in case, however, she did have some cash on her. When they reached the counter, she tried at first, just give the list of how much of each she was going to need. Zizzy couldn't afford to lie here, and have her cheeks glow blue, but maybe she could take advantage of the small quakes of fear she was getting off the squat little man. She leaned a little closer, they became a little bit stronger. She grinned and heard his heart pick up speed, saw his brow break out in sweat.
But he stilled refused. "I--I'm sorry. You need a prescription for those drugs." Zizzy frowned and tried again, but the man refused again. She sighed and backed away, letting the woman behind her go ahead.
"So, how about a convienent power outage?" She asked, already looking for the doors that led into the back of the store.

"I believe a convienent power outage would be convenient," he replied. He fiddled with a bottle of drugs that supposedly gave you seizures if you didn't need them. He set it back down, sticking a hand in his pocket. Zizzy's power really was amazingly handy in situations like robbery. At least in Real World. He made a note to remember that for later use.

Zizzy beckoned him to follow her into the back room. She found the fuse box without a problem, and with it being so late there was a minimum of employees around. She was able to force the thing open and with a quick zap the whole place powered down. There were shouts of surpsrise and dismay.
She headed back out and hoisted herself over the counter. "C'mon." She hissed. "I didn't bring you along for nothing." Zizzy could see the shuffling form of the pharmacist who'd already left his position to go check on things.
This was easier then she thought. She moved to the rows of pill bottles and boggled. How the hell was she supposed to find what she needed amongst all this?
"Can't you be a flashlight or something?"

He glared at her. "You're the one with a battery up your---" A wayward customer bumped into him. Alexander glared, two pairs of flashing, fire eyes in the darkness, and the poor guy fainted.
Alexander crouched next to Zizzy. He held up a hand obligingly and a little head of flame appeared in his palm, flickering and dancing and casting an orange glow over the bottles she was examining.

It took half an hour to locate everything she needed. Another little while to measure it all out and then tuck it away.
"Alright, let's go."
Unfortunately it was at that moment that they finally figured out the fuse box at the lights came back on. Pill bottles littered the floor where Zizzy had left them and they were in trouble if caught.
"Shit." She hissed, standing quickly and looking around. There was a fire exit, but the alarm was sure to go off. They'd have to risk it however because she did not want to make this into a public spectacle in which Alex at the very least might feel the reprecussions.
She turned to hurry out the door when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Zizzy looked back, annoyed, expecting to see Alexander. But instead it was a tall man in a blue uniform with a stern expression.
"Hello officer." She said weakly.

He jogged behind her, his eyes had swept the room and come up as empty-handed as she for escape, and so for now he was content to follow. He skidded to the halt at the sight of the mortal police officer, pausing. Anyone else, and he might have left while he still could. But he was growing kind of fond of the little lightning bug, and more importantly, Armand would kill him. "By the way, Armand, Zizzy is in a mortal prison, in c ase you were missing her."
He approached them both, sending Zizzy a dark look to say 'way-to-wake-me-up-just-for-this' and then smiled charmingly at the tall man. "Problem, officer?"

The man frowned. There was something about both of them that was slightly off. That made the hair on the back of his neck stand up and his skin threaten to hardened into goose-flesh. And he didn't apprecaite feeling involuntarily frightened by two kids who'd probably taken advantage of the blackout to steal their weight in drugs.
"Mind emptying your pockets?" He said in a tone which made it clear it was anything but a question.
Zizzy felt kind of bad. They couldn't just run, they'd be chased. And as much as she was tempted to just shock him, he'd gotten a good look at them both. She didn't need to be wanted in the Real World. She had very little idea what to do and really hoped Alex had something up his sleeve.
"Empty them, now."
Apparently she'd hesistated too long, and it had angered him. Zizzy frowned and turned both her pockets inside out----nothing.
"Alright?" But the officer only shook his head and indicated Alex.
"You too."

Alexander raised an eyebrow, but after a brief pause, turned his own pockets inside out. Normally, this guy would have been long past on his nerves, but the officer seemed a bit jumpy, and Alexander was appeased in knowing that he was vaguely frightening without having to do anything at all.
That, and playing complacent was the wiser move for now. If they could walk away without causing a scene, that would be better. Orange eyes weren't exactly commonplace in Real World, and he'd have a hard(er) time blending in if he was on a wanted list.

He wasn't actually allowed to search them, but there was something in the boy's manner that made the officer want to beat him and run away from him at the same time. Some assuming arrogance, like he should be treated like royalty.
"If you've done nothing wrong, you both won't mind coming down to the station with me to answer a few questions, would you?"
Zizzy's frown had grown more pronounced. "You can't do that---we didn't do anything." It had been stupid of her to lie outright like that, because of course her cheeks flushed. The officer blinked in surprised and then growled.
"Spit those out right now." Zizzy only looked at him, willling the glowing to fade. Instead, he gripped her chin in one hand and plugged her nose with the other, after a second forcing her to open her mouth. Which of course revealed nothing but a mouth, even though her cheeks where still glowing.
"What the hell?" There was a slight tremor in his voice as he let go and stared at the both of them. "That's it, you're under arrest."
"For glowing cheeks?" Zizzy shot back, getting angry and a little desperate. The officer said nothing since it was true the main reason he wanted to arrest the girl was because her cheeks were glowing without explaination. "Obstruction of Justice." he bull shitted.

Alexander took two seconds to think, mostly about which way would prove most effective in both injuring and humiliating this annoying piece of human. He cursed, because the very small responsible side in him had pushed away the idea of lighting the officers toupee on fire.
"Relax, Holmes," he told the police officer. "And stop being so paranoid. A power outage would suggest something is wrong with the buildings system, and I would look into that before hauling two kids down to the station only to embarrass yourself because your eyesight just ain't as good as it used to be."
He fixed a cool very-Nightmarish glare on the man that looked like hell frosted over. His expression shifted, barely, and suddenly the fire alarms were triggered and water rained down on everyone. He gave Zizzy a pointed look. Electricty was best conducted in water.

Zizzy couldn't help but chuckled, the officer shot her a dirty look before the sprinklers came on. He swore violently, commanding them both to stay put, but Zizzy didn't need the pointed look. The lighting failed again and the officer collapsed to the floor, twitching.
"Something's got to be wrong with the wiring." She said apologetically. "You should really get that checked out." And without waiting for a response she gripped Alexander's arm and hurried out the fire escape. It didn't matter now, the alarm was already ringing. Once a good distance away from the pharmacy, Zizzy stopped and grinned hugely.
"That went smoothly."

He gave her a flat look, wringing out the bottom of his now soaked shirt. Her grin proved to be too much to resist though, and his mouth quirked into a vague smile of his own. "Not bad," he agreed. "Now then," he rolled his shoulders and a wave of heat poured from him. Steam clouded into the air for a few seconds, and then he was perfectly dry. "Why would a Nightmare be interested in lucid dreaming?"

"Wanna dry clean me too?" She asked hopefully. Lightning hot enough to dry her off like that would require a rain cloud which would defeat the purpose.
Zizzy wanted to avoid this question, wanted to turn her back and just keep walking. "I read it was a cure for bad dreams." She repeated the answer she'd given before. He probably wouldn't be satisfied with it but it would at least delay him and let her find a way around truth.
