Genevieve made a face at Marie, too. They were too close to be non-judgmental. “Are you sure you’re talking about the right Alexander? I can’t picture him cuddling up on a girl like you, Marie. You’re too classy, by far.” Then again, she hadn’t expected him to pick Eleanor Peep as his running mate. Maybe it was some kind of phase. Like, a reverse rebellion. Innocently hang out with nice girls to get Mom and Dad suspicious.
“He let you on the bike?!” Genn asked, awed. He practically tossed Nellie off of the motorcycle once she was slightly green in the gills. It was hard to imagine him letting someone who didn’t bear the best-friend-badge-bracelet on the thing. “I was hardly permitted to look at it.”
She paused, grinning at Marie with the slightest touch of malice at the corners of her lips. “Did you see his bracelet?”

Marie shrugged. "Zat's what happened. I didn't zink it made sense eithair." She had really enjoyed that afternoon, but she didn't think there had been anything romantic behind it. He'd just been making up for being an ass about her head.
"And yes, we went all ovair ze place." She smiled at the memory, but more the feeling of being on the bike then being with Alexander. Not that that hadn't had it's good parts too. "Oh yes, that little black zing? Why?"

"Oooh, Marie," Samantha crooned, wiggling her eyebrows. Sure she thought he was obnoxious, but Alexander was semi-attractive, if you were into the wild, reckless kind of thing.
Her eyes narrowed as Genn mentioned a 'bracelet' and she looked between her two friends. Her drama radar was beeping. She waited for Genn's explanation.

“Well,” Genevieve began, dropping her voice to a stage whisper. You know, just incase Samantha’s walls wanted in on the gossip. “It’s a absolutely darling little ‘Best Friends’ bracelet. The other half belongs to Eleanor Peep. It’s the strangest thing, but he has been trekking off to her family’s candy farm like, all the time. And we just had her over for dinner at Alexander and Armand’s birthday party. It’s weiiird. She’s so…Dreamish.” She glanced at Samantha, “No offense, of course, dear. But you should see the girl. She’s like a shepherdess from a ballet.”
Alexander might not appreciate her telling them this. But…this was Marie and Samantha. She told them everything. He couldn’t possibly blame her. And, then again, Alexander wasn’t one to be ashamed of much.

Marie laughed. The image of Alexander, of all people, enjoying a perfectly innocent nap with her in a hammock was alien, but the idea of him with a Peep was close to unimaginable. "Zat's so wiered. Zink 'e 'as gone off 'is rockair?"
It would certainly explain a lot. "'e said 'e waz going to teach me 'ow to drive." She said, as further evidence that there was something mentally wrong with him.

Samantha arched a perfectly manicured brow. "I know of the Peeps." (Most Dreams did). This fact only made it all the more baffling. "They're very old fashioned, and those hideous accents." She let her doubt show on her face. "Do you think he might just be placating her? It sounds a bit cruel, to be frank."
She shifted her gaze to Marie and smirked. "Well, my dear, you know that I think you could do worlds better, but driving lessons certainly seems suggestive to me."

Genevieve nibbled on a tart, giving Marie a little nod. “That’s exactly what I think. Too much sun or something.” She shrugged, “But I suppose all bouts of insanity aren’t bad bouts of insanity. You get motorcycle lessons out of it. You’ll have to let me ride with you, when you’re good enough not to kill us both.”
In response to Samantha, Genevieve wrinkled up her nose, “I think her accent is…quaint. It’s kind of cute.” In the hard-to-understand, chimney-sweep kind of way. “But, I actually don’t think he’s just stringing her along. He seems really protective of her; if I didn’t know any better…” She paused for a moment, tapping her lips with her index finger, in thought, “I’d think they were a couple.”

Marie laughed and shook her head, "I very much doubt I'm 'is type anyways. Especially eef 'e's into zis Shepardess." She grinned, although now she was slightly curious. She'd weasel out how he felt about this Peep next time she saw him.
"Eet would be so cute eef he waz dating ze little dream." And by cute, Marie meant something she could tease him about endlessly. A Peep? Honestly? They were the backwater, inbred type and she was slightly surprised.

Samantha frowned into space, eyes glazed as she tried to picture such a pairing. "Definitely strange," she conlcuded. But she shrugged. If there was one thing she wasn't prejudice about, it was people's choice of lovers. "And in a way, it's very typical of Alexander to do something not typical."
She flipped her hair over her shoulder in an annoyed matter. "Now. Too much of this conversation has been devoted to Alexander Ira. Let us focus on you again, Genn dear. The most brilliant solution, I think, is to find you a real boy to fool around with."

“Fool around?” Genevieve echoed, her eyes widening ever so slightly. “Fool around, fool around? Because…” she trailed off, biting down on her lip. “I don’t want to actually do anything bad. Just lying is hard enough for me.”
She looked a little embarrassed. She was such a goody two-shoes compared to her cohorts.

"At least get yourzelf a real boyfriend. No need to do anyzing....right away, zat is." She was only really teasing. She was well aware her friend was a little more innocent then them, but it wouldn't hurt. Genn was pretty and it was about time she had a real first kiss.
"We should totally set you up!" She declared happily, clapping her hands together. "Eet will be fun!"

"I must agree, Genn dear," Samantha said, prim and efficiently business-like. "It's long past due. You're beautiful, charming, as sweet as sin, somebody besides us ought to enjoy you."
She turned to Marie, tapping her arm with a quill pen she magically produced from nowhere. "Now then. Who are our canidates?"

Genevieve tried to look stern with Marie, “Behave.” However, she had a hard time keeping a straight face; she was the innocent one, not the lacking-a-sense-of-humor one.
Set her up? “On a date?” She asked, feeling immediately stupid. Of course on a date. “I just mean, it can’t be with anyone I actually like. Because I always end up terrified that my dad or brothers will end up trying to kill them.” Genn smiled, a touch of cynicism visible in her blue eyes. She sat silently, in thought for a moment before sighing.
“I can’t think of anyone who’d be willing to date me.”

Marie grinned, now was the time for some fun. Samantha had been acting very blaisee about the whole David thing, but her friend suspected there was something more that the ballerina wasn't telling them.
"Daaaah-vid seemed willing enough to brave your family, hmmm, Genn? And am sure as 'e gets past 'is complications, 'e will be a bettair kisser. Samantha nevair complained."

"Don't be silly. Any man would give his left testacle to be with you," Samantha said bluntly. She turned to Marie, seeking agreement, but froze cold at the French aristo's suggestion. Her violet eyes darkened and the corners of her mouth turned almost imperceptibly down.
"He can't just get past his complications," she said somewhat moodily. "It's not just a switch, and Genn already said she didn't want to subject him to anymore torture."
