"Me too," Nex said with all possible feeling, returning the brief hug. He felt so relieved that it was all, well, mostly over. He ran a hand through his hair and looked at the scattered salt and wax. He was used to cleaning up messes like this. "Water would be nice," he said, realizing how thirsty he was for the first time. He'd have to go out into the real world pretty soon to replenish. "I'll clean up," he offered, bending down and prying the melted candle from the floor. He looked up form his crouch when she repeated how glad she was. He smiled for her, sincerely happy that he'd found someone as reliable as Camilla. He was fairly sure he'd have been overcome without her.

Taking two glasses out and filling them with tap water, she walked over to where he was crouched and waited for him to stand before handing him the water.
"Don't worry about it, I need to sweep anyways." Now that she looked around she realized in her wand-work she'd let her apartment go a little bit. There were dirty dishes in the sink and stacked on the counter, her laundry hamper was in desperate need of attention, her bed was unmade. Eugh.
"Sorry for the mess, I've been kind of all-consumed."

"No worries," Nex said with a good-natured smile. "I know a good spell for cleaning," he offered, sipping from the glass of water. The cool felt pleasant on his dry throat. He wasn't going to go quite as far as offering to non-magically clean up her house. He wasn't quite that mindlessly benevolent.

"Are you sure you should be doing any more magic? Doesn't it drain you?" Discreetly, she picked up the mask and put it in a drawer in her kitchen, just in case the temptation proved to be too much for him if he cast a spell now and noticed the difference.
"And besides, I can clean. It's probably good if I take a day off." Not that those ever worked out so well with her. But now without her wand, she couldn't feel bad about not going to all the wishes still humming in her head.

Nex considered what she'd said. She was probably right. With his powers as out of wack as they were he was just as likely to scorch her floors as scour them. He shrugged and gave serious thought to violating his policy against physical cleaning. She'd be helping and he did owe her...
"Do you want help?" he asked, looking around the apartment.

Help was not something Camilla handled well. She doled it out easily enough, but receiving it made her almost physically ill it made her so uncomfortable. "You just had a big chunk of evil yanked out of you; I'm not going to ask you to clean my flat."
She placed her own water on her desk---no longer in the mood for it. "How's the hospital holding up?"

Nex was about to insist he didn't mind when he was suddenly by her inquiry. He put the matter aside, remembering how stubborn she'd been about receiving help the first time. He'd try again later.
"It's been really quiet lately. Sunshine and Paquette, well, Sunshine do most of the real work. I've been trying to cast healing spells, but healing magic has become increasingly harder for me. Hopefully with that thing gone I'll be able to do it again," he admitted, ducking his head bashfully in shame. He'd done a terrible job of looking after the hospital when he was sick.

Camilla figured when she got back she'd have to pull things back into shape anyways, and as long as it was quiet there was no point in getting angry. Besides, he was probably tired out from the evil thing, it wasn't all his fault.
"I hope it's left no permanent damage. And don't worry too much. When you're feeling better you can get back to work, I can ask Sunshine or Pacquette, I'll figure something out."
What would probably happen was she'd go back to work and Mary would just have to wait.

Nex blushed, feeling more like a heel than he had in a very long while.
"I'll go back in today and see about fixing things up," he said, moving to scrape up the rest of the wax. "Do you have a broom?"

"Nex, please don't be silly. Take the time you need to get well. I can work on the wand in my office, you said yourself it was quiet."
She let him scrape up the rest of the wax, because she wasn't going to throw a fit over something so trivial, but there was no way she was letting him at her broom. "Why don't you lie down instead? You must be exhausted."

Nex had some very decisive thoughts on her telling him to lie down when she looked like she hadn't slept in days.
"I'm only going to sweep up the salt, since I put it there. I won't lift another finger to help you out afterward. Promise," he said with a grin, holding out his hands to show he wasn't crossing fingers. "I'll lie down afterward."

"Fine." She muttered since arguing with that logic would just make her look a little stupid. She slipped her broom out of thin air (she had a talent for hiding all things vaguely wand-shaped, although nothing else) and handed it over to him.
"Any patients of note come through our doors?"

Relishing his rather minute victory, Nex happily swept up the salt into a dust pan provided by Camilla. Then, as promised, he returned her broom to her. He did not, however, plunk down on her couch. He figured she'd want him to vacate pretty soon so she could get back to work and he secretly intended to return to the hospital anyways. He could lie down there, successfully keeping his word and satisfying his desire to set things right.
"A kid came in with a broken sternum, but nothing more severe than that." Nothing he could accurately recall was more like it. Nex, while genuine and enthusiastic was not really the best person to leave in charge of a business. "We've got everything on record, though. Sunshine's good at keeping things organized," he assured her.

Camilla placed the broom back in it's mid-air hidey hole and nodded. "Good that means I won't be too interrupted when I go back." She'd been silly to think she could stay away from the hospital this long. Even if Nex hadn't been sick, she missed the place. And there wasn't as much of a temptation to sleep instead of work there.
"She's great." She agreed blithely and than smiled a little threateningly at Nex. "Now why don't you lie down?'

Nex backed up a little at that smile she was giving him. For some reason, it made him nervous.
"Um, I should actually head back, probably..." he suggested meekly, sitting down on the couch despite his words. Camilla could certainly be intimidating. "You should be resting, too," he reminded her, regaining some smidgen of courage.
