The glare she gave him could have given any nightmare a run for his money. "I'm fine." She almost hissed and went to her bed, chucking him a chenille throw. "You take a nap. I have some stuff to do." Damn straight Camilla could be intimidating, it came with the job.
"And don't argue, I don't have the time and I'll get my way in the end." She advised with another slightly-sharp smile.

"Yes, ma'am," Nex said, leaning back against the couch and toeing his high tops off. He pulled his socked feet onto the couch. "Are you sure you don't mind..." he said, gesturing vaguely toward himself and the couch in one awkward gesture. In all honesty, a nap sounded good, but he didn't want to be anymore of an inconvenience than he'd already was.

"Not at all Nex." She replied, softly this time since he was complying with her demands. "I don't need my couch at the moment."
----
She let Nex alone and tried to be quiet and she cleaned up and then returned to work on her wand. She sculpted the horn carefully with the stone, movements so small and precise it was a wonder they made any difference at all. Watching her work, however, it was clear how this could take months.
She was hunched over her work desk, her back was aching, her hand was cramping but she didn't stop. In quicker intervals than she would've liked she had to lift the horn up to the light and study it for a while before seeing what she had to do next.
It was tedious, unforgiving work.

Nex woke up some time later. He had absolutely no idea how long he'd slept. He looked around for a clock. Outside the sun was setting. He'd been out of it for a while, then. He could hear scraping noises from the room over. Intrigued, he got off the couch, shook out the kinks in his neck, and knocked on the door.
"Camila," he called softly, concerned about disturbing her if she was asleep. He doubted it, but still... He glanced around the apartment, less blearily now that he was actually awake. She'd obviously cleaned up. He sighed. Of course she'd clean up just to prevent him from doing it.

"Hmmm, yes?" She said several seconds later, having had to take a moment to realize someone was adressing her. Honestly, she'd forgotten Nex had been on her couch all this time until now, so consuming and detail-oriented was wand-crafting. She placed both the stone and wand down.
"Come in."

Nex slipped into the room when she invited him in. He could see she'd been working, not resting.
"Have you taken a break at all?" he asked, starting to feel serious concern for her health. He moved deeper into the room, closing the door behind him.

"Hmmm? Of course I have. I cleaned my house didn't I? And came to get you." Camilla's definition of a break probably needed a little reworking, but she didn't really comprehend his concern. Hard work happened sometimes, it wasn't a big deal, it wasn't like she wouldn't be able to take a bit of a rest once this whole wand business was over. Once she'd fixed Mary, and checked up on Jasper and gotten the hospital back up to shape and returned the creepy mask and...
Okay so maybe she'd be old and greying before she caught her rest, or maybe she'd only rest when she was dead. But that was all the better, wasn't it? Life wasn't for lying around.

Nex shifted uneasily from one socked foot to the other. Not quite what he'd meant by break...
"I'm not sure what your definition is," he began with a playful grin. "but I don't think cleaning up counts as a break. Neither does saving my life, either," he added after a moment of consideration.
"Wouldn't you like to take a nap or... go for tea, or something?" he asked, looping his thumbs through his belt loop and rocking back on his heels.

"I can sleep when I'm tired." Even though she had circles that were beginning to darken under her eyes and she seemed slightly incapable of sitting up straight. "And I just had water." (That afternoon, but still). "Really, Nex, I'm fine."
It was sweet of him to worry about her, really, it was. But he should know by now she didn't need help. "I'd feel bad about taking a longer break today. There's a few people who really need my wand to be fixed besides myself."

Nex sighed in defeat. There really was no helping the Dream, even if she sorely needed, or at least deserved, good help.
"Alright... Well, I'll get out of your way. Oh! Are there any errands you need run? I have to repay you some way," he added, knowing he needed the payment excuse to just get her to consider the idea.

"I'm good." She stood and attempted to crack her back. "I'll show you out." She shuffled across the room and opened the door into the other room then the front door. Camilla wasn't trying to be brisk or rude, but she did have a lot of work to do and she didn't need to be tempted by Nex's offers.

Nex grabbed his shoes, pushing his feet into them without even attempting the laces.
"Well, just let me know if you need anything," he repeated, standing halfway out the door. "See you around." He stepped fully out into the hall.
