Cherry was moody. A tiny stormcloud of angst. She tapped her cigarette irritatedly in the ashtray, going through the motions of reading a magazine, but not really reading. Earlier, she had started writing a letter to Cal earlier, but realized what she was doing halfway through, so she hurriedly crumpled it up and tossed it in the fireplace.
“I’m patheeetic,” she moaned to no one in particular, slamming her magazine shut, and switching the record to something a little more mopey, to match her mood.

Not only had Jasper mentioned something about his boss, she kind of sort of wanted to check out the woman he was spending a lot of his time with. Out of courtesy, she poofed outside the restaurant so that she wouldn't make a mess. This wasn't to say she wouldn't trail some in, but she'd done all she could to cut back on contamination.
The restuarant sign said 'Closed' and the door was locked, so Camilla knocked on the nice wooden door, trying to peer in uselessly through the clouded glass window. All she could make out where blobs, and so far, none of them had moved.

Cherry turned sharply to face the door, clearly confused. She hopped off the barstool and slunk over to the door. Cautiously, she pulled the door open, just a crack. An unfamiliar woman was on the stoop, and Cherry frowned. She never got along well with broads. “Hey, toots. We’re closed,” She said firmly, starting to close the door once more.

Camilla stuck her foot in the door and wedged her elbow in, prying it open. "I'm Camilla, Jasper's...friend. He mentioned something about the scars on your face. I work at the Good Hope? I can make them go away." She tried for a friendly smile but it was hard when all she could feel from this woman was an almost constant want for a drink. Which in turn, made her really want one too.

Cherry’s hand moved involuntarily to the scar across her lip and chin. It would be swell to get her face back to its smooth, white former state. Nice, yeah, but everyone had a motive. She tried not to sound too rude, but she was pointedly skeptical. “Ya don’t say, Camilla. And what, may I ask, is in it for yas, hmm?” she asked, forcing her eyebrows into a neutral position. She didn’t want to seem too ungrateful if this woman was legit.

In it for her? Camilla stopped, a little bewildered and looked at Cherry with eye-brows raised. "I'll be helping you." She said as if it were obvious. "Jasper asked me to." She knew she wasn't what people pictured readily when they thought 'giving', but still, it was insulting to have it suggested she was looking for something besides gratitude for her wishes. "Look, do you want it fixed or not?"

“Did he?” She asked, a little surprised. Not that it seemed strange for Jasper in particular to do something nice for someone with no expectation of a return favor, but for any Nightmare. Cherry lived in a world driven by favors-for-favors. Cherry pushed herself up onto a barstool, a note of hope hovering around her shoulders. “No, no. I do want them gone. I…just. You can’t blame me for bein’ skeptical, what in this day and age.”

Camilla looked at her and shrugged. "I don't think today's day and age has people any different from yesterday's day and age." At least, she hadn't seen much change in people in the long, long time she'd been alive.
"But, no, I don't blame you. I happen to be a Fairy Godmother though, and so it'd be quite against my nature to ask for something in return. Don't worry, you can complain to Jasper if I mess up."

Cherry chose to ignore that ‘yesterday vs. today’ comment, leaning back on the bar with her elbows. “So, you’re his goilfriend, then?”

Camilla sat on the barstool beside Cherry and nodded. "I guess so." She admitted with a touch of wonderment. Although she was sure with the capture of Diaspro and James, their short-lived relationship was already on shaky ground. "It's a bit complicated." She grinned and reached over, running a thumb quickly over both scars.
Where her thumb passed, the scar disappeared and when she leaned back, they were gone. "All done." She said happily and looked around. "I lied. I would like something in return. Gotta drink?"

“Ugh. Complicated. I hate ‘complicated’. I think I’m ‘complicated’ right now,” Cherry admitted, freezing when Camilla reached across to touch her face. She figured that she was just assessing the scars, seeing what she’d have to do, whatever it was she was going to do. At the ‘all done’, Cherry’s eyes widened and she felt around her face. Nothing, totally smooth. Further investigation in the mirror behind the bar affirmed her suspicions, and it was safe to say that Cherry’s current funk was lifted.
She spun to face Camilla, her excitement rather clear. “Thank you. So much. I really do appreciate it,” Cherry said, with her best honest face on. “And, hell. I am the Queen of Drinks. What can I get ya?”

"Complicated is decidedly annoying." She sighed and propped her chin in her hand. "What's your problem?" She asked with genuine interest. It had been a very long time since Camilla had sat down with another woman and talked about relationships. Mostly because she'd never had one (a relationship) or time to sit around yakking. Jasper had had a loosening effect on her work ethic and she wasn't sure yet if it was a good or bad thing.
"You're welcome." Camilla replied warmly. It wasn't often she got this kind of gratitude. "Just...brandy please."

“Well…” Cherry began, filling a glass with tap water and waving a hand over it casually. By the time it reached Camilla, it was a glass of rather fine brandy. “My boyfriend is in prison. He’s been in there for quite a while. I love him, ya know, I do. For real. But a couple weeks ago, I slept with this fella, and he wants to make us an item. But I know that I can’t, not without feelin’ bad all the time, but…I have a feeling that I will.” She looked shocked at her own admission. She didn’t often tell people, especially strangers, much about herself. “So, what’s complicatin’ you?”

Camilla nodded, nursing the delicious brandy as she listened. "I went without sex for a few centuries. Not making that mistake again." It was surprisingly easy to talk to Cherry. She could see why Jasper liked her. "I would go for now. Screw conscience, it's not like we go to hell anyways. Tell the "fella" there's a time limit on your relationship and what does your boyfriend have to know?"
Camilla had never had anything but a cavalier attitude towards men. "Oh well, I work sometimes for the Crown, but..." She trailed off, realizing she couldn't tell her story without implicated Jasper in several crimes and revealing he was a fugitive. "You can keep a secret?" She asked hopefully, because she found now that she was here, she was kind of dying to spill it to someone.

“That’s what I was thinkin’,” Cherry murmured, pouring herself a cup of mostly-whiskey coffee. She could probably date Cal and keep it secret from Brolly. Have her cake, eat it too, all of that. A second, neutral opinion was more than enough to convince her. She would have to get dolled up and pay a certain fella a visit later on.
She returned to her seat next to Camilla, tucking one of her legs underneath her and letting the other swing freely. “Toots, I am the very soul of discretion. Secrecy is my life and livelihood.”
